Dean Barnes – Born 1971.
I started playing guitar as early as 1977 at the age of 6, taught by my dad (Roy Barnes) who was a professional musician with a band in the early 70s called Country Roots. His lead guitarist was Mark Knopfler and they were one of the top bands doing the Fullers circuit in
At the age of 11, after playing for four years in my bedroom, I was out gigging doing duo and band gigs with my dad and the likes of Roger Dean, Steve Simpson, and Graham Walker and so on. They were all my idols as a kid and I still have the pleasure to this day of playing with all these top guitar players. These gigs with my dad continued for 18 years until he retired. I now do a lot of session work depping with other bands and studio work.
